Societecivile.cd – The Congolese NGO portal

Implementation of an Internet portal for Congolese civil society, carried out in Montreal and Kinshasa as part of an international development internship with the Montreal-based NGO Alternatives.

This project involved implementing the content management system; training staff from participating NGOs; organizing various promotional activities; installing, configuring and maintaining a computer lab; as well as designing the visual identity, logo and various promotional materials.

Launched in 2002, the website contained few images in order to ensure acceptable loading times given the very limited bandwidth available in the region at the time. It was still operational in 2026, demonstrating the resilience and stability of the Drupal platform.
